Pros: 1.) the little amt of detergent needed will blow, your mind. i am only on my second 200oz bottle, of he detergent since oct. and i do 5-7 loads per, week (more in the summer)., 2.) i hardly ever pre-treat with stain remover, anymore; the only things would be mustard blood, and chocolate., 3.) the capacity is amazing... no more trips to, the laundromat to wash comforters and sleeping, bags.
Cons: since it is located in the basement i wish the, "song" that signals the end of cycle was louder., i have it on the highest setting and can barely, hear it but i get around this by just taking note, of the cycle length when it starts and getting, down there just after it ends.
"I have owned this washer for 10 months now and have waited til now to hopefully give a fair review based on time owned. I love it!!! This is my first front load and I would definitely buy LG again. I have had no problems but of course, didn't expect any either. Starting with delivery, the guy helped me unpack it so we could assess any damage before he left (none). Easy to hook up and, like others, the whole family sat and watched a speed cycle (20 min) and were in awe, first of the quietness of the entire cycle, including the spin cycle. And second, that the gentleness of the washer could actually clean clothes. (Up until this time we had only the top load washer that beats your clothes.) Clothes come out hardly wet using the regular rinse cycle; you can adjust this for less spin if needed for a gentiler touch or just by setting on a certain cycle, it will do this for you. ***My absolute most favorite 2 things about this washer are the allergine cycle/steam feature and the timer feature.*** The allergine cycle heats the water to 140 degrees (I believe), hot enough to kill just about any bugs around. I throw all towels, sheets, pj's, dog bedding and anything else that harbors critters like mites and pet dander into this cycle. Swim towels that smelled like mildew before (like the ones the kids left in a wet lump on the floor) come out fresh. Anything that can stand to be washed in hot water can make it through this cycle. The timer feature is one thing I didn't think I'd use but I discovered how convenient it is to set it for starting in the morning and finishing just when I wake up; I use it all the time now. One other favorite thing is that the amt of water it uses is small which is really important to those of us on a well and/or having a septic tank/leach bed. You can set it for adding extra water to a cycle if you feel the load is so large it will need it but even then it's less water than my top-loader used. Clothes come out super clean; I don't even check to see if stains came out or not anymore because I know they did. Just to comment on a few things people have mentioned... my washer does not jump around but I have it on cement in the basement. It does seem quiet enough in operation though to have on any floor of the house. I do not have any odor but I do leave the door open alot and I also run the drum cleaning cycle as recommended. I find that the only thing that gets somewhat trapped by the rubber gasket is dog hair and it's only when I wash the dog articles like their towels and bedding. So after that I just routinely lift the gasket edge and wipe it out; not a big deal to me since I'm just glad I have a washer to actually extract the hair. Like I said, love this washer! My friend had a Maytag Neptune that bit the dust and she's buying one of these next week."
