Customer Reviews for Viking 36" Sealed Burner Gas Cooktop VGSU1646B
Review 1 for Viking 36" Sealed Burner Gas Cooktop VGSU1646B
"This is a great, classic Viking product, but watch the installation. The center of the top is not the center of the bowl that holds the burners. Because of the controls on the right side, the top is two inches out from the bowl base whereas it is only one inch out on the left. We had measured based on the how the bowl fit into the base cabinet and made a mistake. The whole unit was therefore skewed to the left. Wish Viking would make the overhang of the top sitting on the counter uniform with the bowl underneath the burners."

Review 2 for Viking 36" Sealed Burner Gas Cooktop VGSU1646B
"Outstanding product, pricey but worth every penny. It performs well, it looks pro. Even if all you do is boil water on it, people are going to think you are an executive chef. It looks beefy, but so elegant. The layout of the burners is well designed with the simmer burner at the front where you can stir your sauces without having an arm draped over other things cooking (the simmer on the high-end KitchenAide that I considered buying was located at rear left). I am thrilled to own this cooktop, and I know it adds value to the kitchen."

Review 3 for Viking 36" Sealed Burner Gas Cooktop VGSU1646B
"We were looking to get a 36" 6 burner gas cook top to set into our new granite counter and there were only a couple of company's making those. After checking around for months we decided on the Viking. Obviously the Viking name draws oohs and aahs but I had heard quite a bit of complaining about Viking products over the years so I was a little worried but we held our breath and went for it. The cook top isn't short on looks and definitely makes a statement. It's well built for the most part although the mating system between the cast iron grates and the stainless surface could be better. There are little rubber bumpers which are too small and when the grates slide a bit they WILL scratch the surface. Cleaning is fairly easy. Gas cook tops are about as simple as it gets when it comes to appliances so if your company can't make a good one its time to pack it in. The Vikings controls are nice and smooth with very little wobble in the knobs. The brass gas ports and igniter's are simple and well made. The high out put burners are a pleasure to use and the simmer burners do a great job. Our right front simmer burner is a bit temperamental when it comes to lighting (its got gas and spark, not sure what else it needs?) but the others come on beautifully and with purpose. I may have to have the stubborn one checked out. The continuous grates are awesome. Never again will we go without that feature. Overall we are very happy with the Viking so far but of course the real test is the long haul."
