Pros: efficient; many use combinations; easy to clean., love the side opening door.
Cons: repairmen reluctant to work on mws., considered throwaways., i purchased extended warranty this time
"Most cooks only need a MW. I use my Sharp Convection/Microwave combination everyday in many of its possible combinations. My first Sharp combo was 1985. It lasted 23 years of perfect service. Naturally I immediately replaced it 3 years ago. It was essentially the same but only lasted 3 years; I could not find anyone to service it. Local repair places suggested throwing it out. I kept it but also replaced it once again with the very same model. When I was having it installed, (built-in), the installer checked the broken one: only a $35 'wave cover' in the ceiling needed replacement. With that done and ckd out again, I gave the repaired unit to a daughter. She also had one like this for 15 years that recently 'died'. This replacement made her so happy. I can understand that a 'lesser' MW repair is not cost effective but these combination ones are really worth the cost to have fixed if you can find someone to just DO it."
