Six easy access screws and let the cleaning begin! Not available on competitor models. How to Choose a Room Air ConditionerCompared to large capacity central units, room air conditioners have several advantages. The initial cost of a room air conditioning unit is significantly lower than the cost of central air. Because room air conditioners are designed for cooling small spaces, operating costs are reduced. And, room air conditioners can provide personalized temperature and humidity controls that central systems cannot.Calculating Cooling CapacityCooling capacity is the critical factor in properly selecting a room air conditioner. Cooling capacity is measured in British Thermal Units (BTUs) and typical models will range in capacity from 5,000 BTUs to 28,500 BTUs.Choosing an undersized unit will overwork the unit and it will not cool properly. Choosing an oversized unit will cost more to buy and operate and it will not dehumidify properly. We can help you to calculate capacity. Great for small sunroom Posted: 10/19/09
Pros: heats fast
Cons: fan stays running after temp desired is reached

"We had this installed in a 10x12 sunroom and it is great. It heats the room quickly and most of all, it runs on regular household current--no expensive wiring. Unlike the motel size units, this one doesn't shut off automatically which is the only thing we don't like, but that is a small problem. The vents can be pointed up so no direct drafts on anyone sitting near it. Would highly recommend. A. J. Madison was a good company to work with and unit was delivered in wonderful shape and on time. We, of course, haven't tried the AC but feel sure it will be more than ample."

Great Heat pump Posted: 6/1/09
Pros: this is a nice size heat pump for a smaller room., works on 115 volts
Cons: they need to make this in a window mount unit, it could use a remote control

"This seems to be a nice unit and was easy to install. I installed the unit in a window. It was simple I first installed a mount and then screwed some .75 X .75 aluminum angle around casing. Then screwed the unit casing to the window and filler plywood caulked it and it works like a charm. To get a good 1/4 bubble tilt , install the top angle and screw it in place to the casing then to the window frame get your 1/4 bubble then mark where the bottom angle goes on each side. The side angle will simply go from top to bottom at the 1/4 bubble angle automatically. I won't know how well the heat works until winter, although it should be more than adequate here in Florida. The packaging and shipping were great. I would purchase this unit again from A J Madison."
