Shallow.

Pros: very attractive unit
Cons: shallow may be negative. maybe a positive.
" Arrived with the left-side top most, white plastic shelf support broken. Also, gasket attached to the top drawer glass top/shelf was not properly thus it didn't allow the drawer to close properly. I had to trim.
The glass shelves arrive held in place with folded card board and as such some of these gave way in the move, but otherwise the package engineering that went into to packing this very-very heavy refrigerator for shipping is quite amazing.
Word of advise, consider the two 2-by-4s early in your cabinetry ordering/installation process, because opening the doors alone puts the refrigerator at risk of tipping as the unit is very tall and very shallow. They have stickers all over the unit warning you of the tip hazard. Again as the unit is tall, the top most covered door shelves may not be useful for those of you who are shorter than 5'4". I'm 6'2", but the wife is going to be challenge to use these covered shelves. Again, the unit is a very shallow 24 exterior inches deep from the edge trim back. So, the interior is not at all deep. Open the door, and everything is right there. You will never have to hunt for anything. I was surprised with the flex in the exterior sheet metal as well. I was surprised by the plastics used, but impressed with the aluminium shelf bracket supports, and glass shelves. Also, if you like to keep ice-tea or water in spigot jugs, the optimal door shelf and interior glass shelf placement will cause the door shelf fronts to impact on the spigots. Again, this is because of the shallow design.
To connect the ice maker water supply buy a 20' long 3/8" connector ice maker supply line, compression fighting to allow you to connect female to female. zip ties and self adhesive zip tie mounts, and a water alarm to warn you of leaks. Do what you want, but you have to crank the feet of the unit into place to level the it... If the supply line bursts you will wish for an alarm to warn you of a leak. A water alarm will run you 5 to 10 bucks at Lowes and will last for 5 years on single nine volt. I have hardwood floors throughout my house... To repair water damage is far greater than 10 bucks.
The water supply line that comes with the unit is not flexible and I basically left it in the same position it arrived taped, I replaced the tape with zip tie and zip tie mounts. I then zip tie mounted the stainless steel mesh wrapped, supposedly burst proof flexible water line supply upward, looped the access at the top, in bundle and then connect to the line they supply. I also loosely zip tied the water line off up the floor to the power cord as the outlet was higher to hold the line off the floor to avoid the unit crushing the water supply as the unit was moved into place. " A great unit. My only comment is that the interior is a little smaller than I anticipated. Otherwise, I entirely recommend it. "
