Unlike other electric elements, induction elements provide the precise temperature control of gas burners for gourmet cooking. Turning the dial down, the heat energy to the pan immediately decreases. Magnetic waves have no effect on skin or anything other than iron or steel. If the pan is accidentally removed from the cooktop, no more heat is produced.

"The specifications include power ratings of 1300 and 1500 watts. The operating manual states 100 watts and 1300 watts, thus the ad is OVERRATING the specs! The wattage factor is a MOST important element when shopping for an induction burner so we only got about 87% of what I was led to believe we were purchasing!
The Viking burner offers 1800 watts so when I thought the Avanti was 1500 watts I thought that a fair compromise for the price differential, but at only 1300 watts that turns out to be a little over 2/3rds the power of the Viking."

"I make soap and needed a one burner induction cooktop. The most convenient and useful part of this burner is that it will hold the heat at an exact temperature for as long as needed, which in soaping and lotion making is essential.
I love the range of temperatures that are available and how quickly this cooktop reaches them. If I should ever need another one, I would purchase this one again."

"I have two other induction cook tops. This one interested me because of its ability to hold specified temperatures. For example, when making bagels, I hold the temperature of the water bath just under boiling; so, I am ready to go by just raising the temperature. It is also perfect for simmering. I cook a great deal with fresh tomatoes, which have a tendency to burn on with regular cook tops- but, not with the Avanti. It adds just enough heat to produce the simmer. Now, I want to add a higher power induction cooker to my collection. I rarely use our stove cook top even for boiling water. I honestly cannot think of anything "not so great" about it."

"We are considering getting an induction cooktop when we remodel our kitchen and want to give induction cooking a real try before making our decision. We love it. It heats very quickly, adjusts the temperature instantly, and cleans up easily. Now, and when we get the new induction cooktop, it will act as an extra cooking element."
