Great Buy, Great Experience!

"The Futuro Futuro 136AQGL range hood I purchased in March arrived promptly and well-packed. Once installed, I have to say that it completely exceeded my expectations. It looks beautiful and works wonderfully, (extremely quiet & keeps the kithchen well-venitlated). I was a little concerned about making this purchase online, but I am so glad that I did. The AJ Madison site is informative and easy to use.

Nice and Pretty

Pros: beautiful not bulky clean-look nice lights
Cons: no install instructions in the install manual

"My wife picked out this vent hood according to aesthetics while I was looking into the detailed specs. She was looking for something not bulky, stainless steel, clean-looking, and elegant. I was impressed with the enormous flow rate of 940 CFM with a relatively low noise rating (~40db).

When we recieved the hood and were ready to install, I noticed the "Install Manual" does not tell you how to install. It shows you how the pieces piece together, but not on how to install it. I called FuturoFuturo and the sales rep said that the reason they don't tell you how to install is because this vent hood is shipped world-wide and cannot comply with every building code. It makes sense, but just made it much more difficult. If you are not a handy man or don't know any handy men, it would be wise to hire an installer.

Once we installed it we turned on the unit. The lights were great. Not too bright, not too dim. I also noticed the bulbs were easily accessible in case they needed to be changed out.

The one thing I was slightly disappointed in was their rating of the air flow. I deal with airflow rates all day at work and I am quite certain the vent is not pulling 940CFM. I even took out the grill guards where the blower was bare and it still did not seem like 940CFM.
That is just me being picky. The flow is still great for pulling in steam from the stove. It does its job and works great, I just had higher expectations...

If you decide to install it yourself, I have some advice:
1) Don't peel off the white protective sheet covering the vent ducts until its completely installed. I know...it's common sense.
2) You definitely need at least 2 people to install this hood.
3) The power cord for the hood is very short, you will need an extension cord and a dedicated wall socket in your attic for the power cable to connect to.

Overall this hood is fantastic, the lights, the look and yes even the flow. I would highly recommend it if you are up to the challenge of figuring out how to install this 100lb vent hood system."
