"This is a September 2003 model (almost 8 years old!!!) and it is still cranking out at least a 10 lb bag of ice a day for us! The ice shovel that scoops the ice from the maker to the bin needed a little reinforcement at the pin joints, but that was about 10cents of adhesive. The shovel is still being sold by Greenway parts department and is only $7.99, so we may spring for that soon. We never imagined this machine could go this long and still work like near-new!! Definitely worth the money for us!! We make medium cubes, and it makes 12 cubes in 10 minutes, I fill it three times in a 24 hr period, and it could make more, but I don't fill it in the middle of the night. I pour in 3 quarts of filtered or tap water, and then empty the ice bin twice before I need to add more water. I could just let it stand with the ice in it, but I tend to bag it for our coolers. Great to use during gatherings. The motor is loud, but makes no more noise than when I put a fan on to circulate the air. Having all the ice I need is worth it during the summer!!."
