Space age design in the kitchen Posted: 11/24/08
Pros: design interface power flexibility
Cons: cost

"The first thing friend say when they see this is "wow - looks like it belongs on the Space Shuttle". Very cool design and it comes with a slew of accessories. I never knew a microwave could grill, but there you have it. Auto sensors determine when your food is done which works great for baked potatoes. The touch screen is really nice. I'm still exploring the multitude of cooking options this unit offers but so far love it. The only downside is that's it's pricey."

"I have had the Velos microwave for about 4 weeks and during that time I have tried just about every cooking method it offers. I have not been disappointed with any of them. The grill feature cooks a nice steak in less than 15 mins. that is truly tender and juicy. I also really like the convection bake. The steam function is wonderful and so quick for fish and vegetables. The appearance is sleek and the fan is actually effective and quiet. For someone who hates to cook this is a wonderful appliance that saves time
and the food actually tastes like you baked it in the oven or sizzled it on the grill. I would certainly recommend it."

"The Whirlpool GH7208XRY is an excellent microwave. It's sooo good I forgot I even had a range underneath it. It grills, roasts, bakes, and everything else you want it to do. It is programmable to do many tasks all in one session. It can be, simply, programmed to defrost the food, cook (roast/grill/bake/...etc.) the food, and hold the food warm until you are ready to eat, after it has been cooked of course. This all without you interacting with it at all. Just set it and forget it. Hmm .. where did I get that quote from ??? Anyway, the fan is one of the best I have seen; Very powerful. The stainless steel look compliments any SS kitchen theme. Blends in nicely. And when it comes to the inside capacity of this MW, it is HUGE! I could probably roast a whole cow! I'm exaggerating of course. But the cavity of this MW is enormous. I am glad I did my research. The Whirlpool GH7208XRY microwave was rated the best convection MW by Consumer reports. Would I buy this MW again, if I had to buy another one, abso-freakin-lutely!!!"
