Summit Freestanding Bottom Freezer Refrigerator FFBF171SS

24" Frost-Free Bottom-Freezer SUMMIT's collection of frost-free refrigerator-freezers provides an attractive and user-friendly answer to small kitchen spaces. The counter depth FFBF171SS is a bottom freezer refrigerator sized with a unique 24" footprint and 11.47 cu. ft. of storage. It comes with a platinum cabinet and reversible stainless steel doors complete with chrome handles. Separate digital thermostats for the refrigerator and freezer section are conveniently located at the top of the refrigerator, with a digital temperature readout for easy monitoring. An open door alarm sounds when the refrigerator door is left open for over two minutes and a freezer alarm warns you if the interior temperature has exceeded its suggested range. Inside, the FFBF171SS utilizes low maintenance frost-free operation in both compartments. The refrigerator section includes slide-out shelves with a unique fogged glass look and steel trim. Two mini crispers and one large crisper provide plenty of room to separate your fruits and vegetables, while a scalloped steel wine rack is ideal for storing bottles. The refrigerator door includes multiple racks with adjustable clips, letting you accommodate tall bottles as needed. The bottom freezer features slide-out plastic drawers for easy storage and optimum temperature performance, ensuring items aren't exposed to room temperature when the door is opened. Perfectly sized and featured, the FFBF171SS combines user convenience, energy efficiency, and modern style. For this unit with a factory installed icemaker, see the FFBF171SSIM. Excellent Choice

Pros: size for small kitchens.
Cons: very hard to reverse the door.
"Great refrigerator for a small kitchen. Love to be able to stand and get access to all of the refrigerator items. The only downsize was trying to reverse the door. It was very difficult. The instruction book did not match the refrigerator. You have to take the entire top off to reverse the doors."

Great fridge & beautiful addition to a small kitch
Posted:3/14/14
Pros: beautiful efficient & plenty of storage for small, kitchens
Cons: opened door alarm could be significantly higher, the alarm is barely audible., i've yet to learn how to switch the door swing., the directions are clear but you can't access the, screws at the top of the door as the directions, imply.
"Really love this fridge, if you can love a fridge! The high-end looks adds character to an otherwise small and non-updated space.
The unique sounds generated from the compressor (I think) takes a bit getting use to but it's non-intrusive and sounds rather funny.
Super happy with the purchase BUT, I wish I could access the screws at the top of the door to switch the door to open from right to left rather than left to right...bummer.

Pricey but Excellent - Small footprint
Posted:1/19/14
Pros: top refrigerator bottom freezer small footprint, adjust. shelves and lots of door storage - refrig, nice stainless finish large handles, maintains temp very well top to bottom., circulating fan in refrig., led light in refrig but no light in freezer, 24" depth and width - very compact but 78" high
Cons: plastic draws don't have slides, with ice maker loss of space in freezer, somewhat pricey but you pay for the compact size
"Note this is a very TALL refrigerator. We had a small alcove that it had to fit in, and it fit perfectly, as a second refrigerator to our Sub Zero in the kitchen. Fit and finish was excellent, however the plastic draws don't slide very well, as they are not on slides. The digital display is the SET temperature NOT the actual temp in the refrigerator or freezer, and it is in Celsius. I've used a digital thermometer to verify the internal temps and they are very close to the SET temp. Some people complain that Summit units are noisy, this one is fairly quiet, but does gurgle occasionally - but it is not annoying IMHO. With the ice maker installed, you loose almost a full shelf in the freezer. This unit is made in China."

Great fridge
Posted:1/13/14
Pros: looks value space savings
Cons: small if you are not use to it
"very attractive appliance inside and out. It is one the small side, perfect for 1 or 2 counter depth and height give it a built in high end look. It does make some unsual sounds but not loud than a normal fridge."
