Pros: price, noise, design
Cons: no frost control
"Just purchased this unit (FAD704TDP) today. With above average rainfall in our area, our basement has been more humid than normal. It seems very well built, nice design, comparable features, and most of all it is QUIETER than other brands/models. Since I will be using it in a partially finished basement I needed something that didn't make too much noise. As with all dehumidifiers the compressor is the loudest part of the unit, compared to GE and Kenmore (that my parents own) it's about 50% quieter. I've only had it running for a couple hours and you can already feel the difference. The only feature that I wish it had but not as important as being quiet was frost control, it is rated to work as low as 41 degrees F, which is the same operating temperature as all other brands, and since I don't expect to use it below about 65 degrees F it isn't a big deal. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase and hope this unit will give me years of trouble-free service."

"The dehumidifier looks great, is solidly built, and has simple controls to operate. The water tank has a handy handle for carrying and you can hook up a hose if a water drain is nearby. It is real quality throughout."
