Available at AJ Madison. How to Choose a Room Air Conditioner Compared to large capacity central units, room air conditioners have several advantages. The initial cost of a room air conditioning unit is significantly lower than the cost of central air. Because room air conditioners are designed for cooling small spaces, operating costs are reduced. And, room air conditioners can provide personalized temperature and humidity controls that central systems cannot. Calculating Cooling Capacity Cooling capacity is the critical factor in properly selecting a room air conditioner. Cooling capacity is measured in British Thermal Units (BTUs) and typical models will range in capacity from 5,000 BTUs to 28,500 BTUs. Choosing an undersized unit will overwork the unit and it will not cool properly. Choosing an oversized unit will cost more to buy and operate and it will not dehumidify properly. We can help you to calculate capacity. Frigidaire dehumidifier FAD704DUD
Pros: quiet powerful nice design easy operation
Cons: a bit pricy but worth it!
"I purchased Frigidaire dehumidifier to replace an old LG model (bought at Home Depot) in the basement. The old one was working fine, but it was so laud and annoying, that we had to turn it off while in the basement. Couldn't watch TV and have the dehumidifier on at the same time! The new dehumidifier looks great (tall but sleek) and is much quieter then the old one. The fan noise is a bit more noticeable if switched to high setting, but on low fan speed, it is negligible. We can now enjoy our new living space without having to turn off the dehumidifier."

Pretty good so far
Pros: does it's job
Cons: the filter is behind the water tank
"So far so good. This unit is pulling about full capacity tank of water each day during these few weeks. It remains to be seen how it will hold up in the summer months when it will probably be running almost nonstop."
