The Danby Twin Tub Washer features a large wash tub and separate high speed spin extractor. Designed to save on energy costs, it uses less than 200 watts of electricity per load. It has a 10 lb. tub capacity and 2 wash actions (normal and gentle). It features a full size adapter, wash timer, galvanized steel cabinet, easy access lint filter, high speed spin dry basket (1400 RPM), quick connect to tap, safety lid, easy roll castors, and has a super quiet operation. Manual operation assures that every load is done exactly as you want it- nothing is left to chance!

"PERFECT For Single People and small apartments. In 2 loads I can wash all my week clothes ...around 7 pairs of socks, 7 t shirts and 7 boxers for my whites and pretty much the same with colors including 2 or 3 jeans. It also holds my bed clothes (Queen set) and i did wash a medium size bed comforter once :)
The "high speed spin dry basket" ITS AWESOME, it pretty much completely dries the clothes but it should be a little bigger...and it wont fit the comforter :P
Everything is pretty much plastic and the exterior and some other parts are galvanized steel.
It cost me almost $100 to ship it to Florida (i couldn't find it here anywhere)so everything was almost $400...a little expensive for my taste but i was tired of wasting time at the laundry mat.
Be sure you have some space to dry your clothes. I though i have enough space but i dont, so i have to wait until my whites are dry before i wash my colors ones or i wont have any place to put them.
The washing time it goes from 1 to 15 min and the spin time from 1 to 6 min. Is not Automatic so you will have to drain the water (it has a switch to do that) then put the water back in, and wash it for another 15 min.
If i have more time i set the timer twice for 15 min so i do 30 min washing with detergent and everything and another 30 min with just water. Then i do the 6 min spinning and DONE!!
Overall its a great machine that with little changes here and there it would be a 5 Star product.
I still dont know how much my water bill is right now that i started to use this machine (for about a month now) i hope it wont be too much :P

"I was a little hesitant to purchase a portable washer.. none of my friends or family had even heard of a product like this. It turns out this was a GREAT IDEA and I would recommend this product to anyone that does not have a washing machine in their home already! It works great & holds more than I had expected. "Buying this portable washer has saved me many trips up and down two flights of stairs to the basement washer. I can do small loads more often. The spinner tub gets the clothes quite dry for hanging on an indoor rack. As long as one has room for it, it then rolls easily to a sink. I can do a load of wash while preparing a meal in the kitchen."

"I'm a retiree, and need to conserve my limited income. This machine uses less electricity and less water than any other. No only that it gets clothes as clean as the big boys. It's fun to operate, what you'd call semi automatic, giving you greater control over wash time, wash action for delicates, water temp, and the spin tub is amazing. If you enjoy a hands on experience in our automated world, this is the one to get."

"34 years ago I used a twin tub washer and easily kept up with all the laundry: mine, my husband's, and my newborn's--who experienced only one box of Pampers in her entire childhood; she was a cloth-diapers kid! So now, as a snowbird spending winters in a 5-star RV park in AZ who detests laundromats, I wanted my portable washer back! I had to go online to find one but am THRILLED I did, because now, using it, I can ALSO make my carbon footprint smaller: I can do our weekly laundry with no more than 20 gallons of water and redirect that used water to my thirsty AZ plantings. Sure, it takes some dedicated time and attention, but as a retiree, what better way to use my time. And it really doesn't take all that MUCH time. Next comes the challenge of camouflaging some drying lines, but...I'll do it: I am determined; I am Woman, I am invincible! (Remember that one?) Try it; you'll like it!"

"This is a great washer! My sister had this washer in Michigan many years ago -- when i was looking for a portable it was her description that i used and found this Danby. The extractor really does wet-dry clothes; and i am amazed how much i can put in one load. IF you don't like paying attention and stopping/ starting wash and rinse cycles (and water level) this is not the washer for you. But the control over how long to soak, how many rinses, extractions, ect is more than worth the hands-on this washer requires. (the timers are so quaint --sound just like the little oven timers). Only thing i'd like different is a stainless steel tub -- but at the price guess i can just buy another someday."

"this was the perfect solution for me; living in an apartment without W/D connections was driving me crazy. Now I can do laundry whenever I want without having to go to the laundry room which is only open limited hours! It has given me back my weekends, which used to be spent going somewhere to get change for the machines, then spending an entire day housebound laundering the clothes. The reviews I read gave it mixed reviews but I couldnt be happier."

"When I received the washing machine, I realized that the washing machine is totally manuel in operation. You have to attach hose to faucet, put water into washing machine, manually stop water, manually start washer, manually put clothes into spinner, start spinner, pull clothes out of spinner, put clothes into washing machine, put faucet back on, fill with water, manually start again, and again, and again. Nothing automatic. Is this 1940's or 2007
Do not take me wrong about Danby products. I have their dishwasher which is totally automatic and works top notch. I would recommend Danby products to everyone. Top notch product. But totally manual washing is just way to out of style and time comsuming. Thumbs down on manual washing machine."

"I have lived in various apartments for about 10 years, now. Why I never invested in a portable washing machine before this, I don't know! It's been great- The load capacity is comparable to a regular sized washing machine. The extra spin tub gets my clothes so dry that I am able to put a double or triple load of clothes into one community apartment dryer, and they get nice and dry. Air drying is not a problem, either. I would highly recommend this washing machine to anyone who spends their money and time in community laundry rooms or laundromats."
