Vent-A-Hood Chimney Style Range Hood CWEAH6K

Introducing a Fresh Idea from the People who Invented Kitchen Ventilation From the creators of kitchen ventilation comes a new idea in duct-free hoods - the Air Recovery System. Utilizing a proprietary 4 phase technology, Vent-A-Hood's ARS series is ideal for light residential cooking where venting is not possible. They're powerful, quiet, efficient, easy to maintain and because they're duct-free, they offer unlimited design freedom. 4 Phase Process - Quadruple Cleaning Power While conventional ductless hoods return contaminates into the kitchen, a duct-free Vent-A-Hood is different. The 4-phase ARS Patent-Pending process systematically eliminates contaminants, reclaiming the air and returning it clean and fresh into the kitchen. Phase 1: Active canopy technology effectively captures cooking vapors Phase 2: Centrifugal grease extractor removes grease from air stream Phase 3: Massive activated carbon bed has 50 times more exposure than conventional ductless hoods Phase 4: High efficiency microfilter uses interception, impaction and diffusion process to capture even minute smoke particles And because the 4 Phase Process works so well, your home interior, including furnishings and fabrics, stay cleaner and last longer. Now, that's what we call fresh. Like all Vent-A-Hood systems, the ARS series is made in the USA and offers the quality, craftsmanship and performance you've come to expect from the company that invented kitchen ventilation. They work hard to live up to their reputation as the most respected name in home ventilation. So, not only do they make sure you get better air, they guarantee you get great value. With a 250 CFM internal blower and centrifugal grease extractor, the reduced CFM allows the air to be properly cleaned.

It really works

Pros: very effective beautifully made and quiet
Cons: more expensive than others
"We live in an apartment in NYC. We looked long and hard for a vent for our recent kitchen renovation and found the vent a hood ARS at one local show room, and then went to their regional supplier in NJ for a real look.
There seems to be no others with a system like ARS.
Installed easily. The filter alone weighs 20 lbs (not some flimsy carbon screen).
AND - it really works. We have an electric stove top (no gas here). The vent draws well and is quiet, well lit, and after two months with normal cooking, including pan-seared steaks, no grease on our walls. Easy to clean. Nothing comes out the top except fresh air.
Highly recommended when you cannot duct."

Terrific to use and beautiful

"We installed this in a house we have sold, and are now thinking of installing one in our new place.
The perfect solution if you cannot duct to the out doors. The unit takes filtered air to the ceiling where it is released, clean and cooled somewhat, into the room. The grease trapping is impressive, the fan strength was excellent for residential cooking.
The top of the unit tends to attract dust, like the top of a refrigerator does. We put nothing on that shelf area. If I buy again I will choose the design without any horizontal surface just because it will be easier to keep clean."
