Verona cooktop

" We are trying to do a high-end looking kitchen and the white porcelain cooktop just didn't make it. I was also not impressed with the graphics indicating which knob went to which burner. We only opened the box and put the cooktop in place and decided it wouldn't work, so we don't know anything about performance. We took a 30% hit on the restocking fee plus $100 in delivery fees, but I am happy with not compromising on my vision. I should have known better! "

crowded, but good decent cooktop

" We replaced an electric cooktop with this unit. The size of the replacement was dictated by the original electric top, so choices were limited to 30" tops. I looked at a bunch before buying this one. Installation is a snap if you have gas lines run and an available 110V outlet. There is a fair amount of slop available for the hole and you can always buy a hoodie ring. Who came up with "hoodie ring"? I had to call and ask what that was.... I've used this for a couple weeks now and these are my impressions:You get what you pay for. This is a relatively inexpensive cooktop, but it is good value for the money in my opinion.Good- it's a cooktop. It gets hot. The burner controls are easy to get to without reaching over a flame. The control is reasonably precise, The grates are removable so cleaning is easy. The grates cover the entire cooking area, so you can slide a pan around, rather than lifting from one burner to another. Bad- it's crowded real estate. Of course it is- they cram five burners onto a four burner footprint. Sideways it isn't too bad (if not using the central burner) but forward and back on the right side is a bit cramped if you have several things cooking at once. I use larger skillets, so I particularly noticed this. I haven't used the central burner much, but I like the fact that it has flames interior and exterior. The other four burners just have flames around the edges and you don't get real even heating that way. Maybe I'm not used to it yet, but it seems like the four smaller burners are not all that hot. I have noticed (or imagined??) that it takes longer to boil water in my teakettle compared to the old electric top. If you deep-fat fry, this could be an issue. I do not.The controls are a bit odd. To get really low flame, turn them toward 'off', not toward 'low'. Overall, the detractions on this cooktop are minor and would not discourage me from making this purchase again. I give it 4 stars because it really is a mostly average cooktop but the only 30" five burner that I could find, so the extra flexibility gets it another star. Don't expect a commercial unit and it will meet your expectations; this is designed for light household duty.[...] "

Blown away

" Top quality all the way. I was a service rep.for a gas utility for many years. Appliances use to be made to last. This is something you seldom fine anymore. This 30" Verona five burner rangetop was made the old fashion way. True quality. The last time I saw adjustable burners through the burner valve stems, was years ago. To expensive for most manufactures I guess. Heavy duty cast burner grates!! WoW--You just don't see this type of grate unless it is commercial grade. Heavy duty burner heads and spark ignitors that will last a lifetime are things you just don't see anymore. Sooo I think you can see we are very pleased. [...] "

" We are furnishing a new home (our 14th) and the builder had allowed for only a 30" cooktop. All the other configurations I could find did not meet my wife's requirements. Finding you and the Verona 5-burner top was exactly what she wanted if she could not have a 36". It is of great quality, looks and construction. Thanks for a very professional and satisfactory experience.
