Customer Reviews for Caldera Sealed Burner Gas Cooktop CASSK
Review 21 for Caldera Sealed Burner Gas Cooktop CASSK
Cons: tough to clean. but then again so is my jenn air
"I write this review after having just remodeled my kitchen and replaced my caldera cooktop with a high-end (expensive) free standing Jenn-Air range. I've gone from five burners to six.
I miss the caldera. It's true. I've spent lots of $$$ getting that professional look and appliance. But, it doesn't perform as well.
The center, large burner on the caldera is phenomenal. It really pumps out the BTUs which is critical for stir frying. I don't seem to get nearly the heat on the Jenn-Air. The little burner could simmer the most delicate sauce on the caldera. The Jenn-Air has a small burner but it doesn't seem as light as the caldera.
My mother dropped the corner of a heavy pan right on the glass around the control knobs of the caldera - it shattered the glass. I called them up and was greeted by someone in the US who spoke very clear english and was concerned for me as a customer (wow -does that really still happen anywhere else?). They offered to send someone out to replace the glass at no cost. I did not take them up on the service call offer. I had them ship me the panel and I scraped off the old one and dropped the new one on in about 10 minutes. It was much easier than wasting hours waiting on a repair man."

Owned Product:0-6 months
Frequency of Use:Light

Pros: great value xlnt performance xlnt looks
Cons: rubber feet: they need to be twisted as they are, installed to ensure a good fit...work great after
"My wife and I purchased the Caldera from AJMadison after the first one we purchased from another online company went out of business with our money. 1) We wish we would have used AJ Madison in the first place; friendly fast reliable and it shipped from the mfg to our door. 2) We love our Cladera. The amount of control you have with the burners is remarkable and the heat from the middle burner will make you take notice. We love how you can slide the cookware from one burner to another without lifting...the grates are very close together..almost like a continuous surface"

Excellent 5 burner cooktop
Pros: looks great great value good performance
Cons: difficult to clean
"This Caldera cooktop is a great value for a 5 burner cooktop. The burners are intelligently placed, and accomodate 5 pans. The high output burner puts out serious heat. My only complaints: 1) the cooktop is a pain to keep clean. The knobs are in a glass surface which shows every grease drop and fingerprint. The stainless shows streaking if not wiped carefully 2) the back left burner on my unit is a little finicky to start sometimes - will produce gas without a spark. Caveat - I have not contacted Caldera to address this issue yet."
