Blomberg BRFB1450

More than 125 years of history. . .With 125 years of production and expertise in the appliance and metal industries, Blomberg is a quality and trusted name in the European household appliance market. Now owned by Arcelik, the 3rd largest appliance manufacturer in Europe, Blomberg has gained a sizeable presence in the average European home. For years Blomberg has been setting trends in both technology and style, and they continue to employ technologically advanced appliances, while still keeping the everday family life in mind.Blomberg has always been on the cutting edge of technology, being the first company, in 1947, to produce a machine with less than 100 liters of water consumption. They have recently been given the Energy Award by the leading German consumer reporting magazine for most efficient appliances; as well as awards for innovation and ease of use.As a widely recognized international name, Blomberg, has established themselves in the United States with production of dishwashers and refrigerators that are reasonably priced and are superior in features and quality. In the coming years, Blomberg, has its sights set on becoming a market leader in the United States, just as it has been in Europe for so many years.Blomberg is renowned for its environmentally friendly cooling appliances. . .Treating the environment with care is a constant theme driving the development of Blomberg's appliances from design through to manufacturing. Blomberg's cooling appliances are extremely efficient and kind to the environment, while using compatible technology, user-friendly handling and above all, considering the need for a common sense of responsibility in regards to environmental issues. As an example, the European Commission judged the Blomberg fridge/freezer CT 1300 A "the most energy efficient refrigerator" at the Energy+ Competition in 2004. With the same daily electricity consumption as a 16 W light bulb, this award-winning Blomberg refrigerator has lower annual average energy consumption than any comparable appliance. In terms of the EU label classification, it qualifies for an A++ label.

Great small fridge Posted: 9/18/08
Pros: great for the space. midpriced. no-spill shelves, energy star rated
Cons: some condensation in the back but i think that's, the design. wish the freezer had 1 large section, and one drawer.

"great fridge in for a narrow, shallow space. Great sleek look and midpriced. we'll see how it performs long term. it's pretty quiet and energy star rated."

I don;t like stainless steel, but..... Posted: 8/11/08
"this is a great fridge. The only thing I don;t like about it is that I couldn't get it in blue or red. I HATE stainless steel, and we are actually painting it. Yes, the new stainless steel fridge is now being sanded and painted. (I know that;s blasphemy to most of you reading this). WE cook from scratch almost every day so we don't need much fridge space for prepared food from stores. WE also have a chest freezer for the berries and meat we harvest/hunt/purchase form the CSAs.If you buy frozen pizza and eat a "grocery store diet," this probably isn't your fridge. If appreciate wine (great wine rack), appreciate energy efficiency, and are short on space ( or just don;t need something larger), then this is your best bet. This fridge is quiet, super energy efficient, is easy to use, perfect dimensions for our space, and looks cool (the shape, I mean - we are painting it burgundy).[...]"

So far so good Posted: 7/6/08
"We needed a tall, narrow fridge for our small kitchen in our Spanish Mediterreanean bungalow home. The American fridges are, let's say, "supersized" - typical for our country.
So we went with a European brand that is not very well known in the US. It was a real risk.

So far so good: Service from AJ Madison was fine - uneventful - they did their job on schedule.

Can't comment much on the quality of the fridge since we've only been using it for a couple weeks. It's in excellent working order so far and we are very pleased with it overall. The front door will not permit "frdige magnets" if that's important to you. But you can put magnets on the side - which is OK with us.

We like that the freezer part is on the bottom but you can't store a whole lot in the 3 freezer drawers. Which will be a good excersise in grocery-shopping discipline for us. We always have to throw stuff out that's old or freezer-burned.

I do wonder who we will call for service if it needs repair. On the other hand, I've had many fridges in my life and rarely have needed them repaired.
